Way out west

Image
Hi, I really liked the Country theme at ARTastic this month. It gave me the inspiration I needed to scrap this photo of my Granddaughter’s reflection in the s ide mirror of my friend’s ute. I have sprayed the background using a “Dusty Attic” Chipboard as a stencil, to mirror the fence line in the painting.   I have also reflected the colours on the painting in both the photo and my choice of papers. I wanted to keep the layout simple so the background become the hero. Hope you like my take on the challenge, I really enjoyed creating this page. Fun

HI, The prompt at Scrap the Boys for June is “In Stitches”, one of my favourite things to add to layouts is stitching, both machine and hand stitching. I have used colour burst powders to create this wildly colourfully background, and then used a few different stencils and stamps over the top.   I have added a few rows of machine stitching and a star embellishment which is also machine and hand stitched. Hope you like my take on the sketch, thanks for looking. Julie J http://scraptheboys.blogspot.com/

Brighten your life

HI, On this page I have combined two challenges: The theme from “Scrap the Girls” for June Is “Best Friends” and the Prompt from "Archi-scraps" to use "Triangles". I have a great group of friends that decided about 10 years ago when our local scrapbooking shop closed to host our own crops each week at each other’s houses, while we still scrap together every week, it has also turned into an amazing friendship with lots of social outings together.   So this photo of us at the football was perfect for Scrap the Girls, this month. I have  sprayed the background with a very simple mask to create two triangles, I then stencilled with some colour paste to represent the pyramids in the picture from Archi-scraps.   I cut some more triangles out of pattern paper and added them to the top and bottom of the layout Hope you like my take on the Challenges, I have lots of fun create this page.   HI, I had such fun playing around with the circle cutter again, to incorporate as many photos as I could using Sketch #325 from Sketches in Thyme. The fun multi photo layout was perfect to scrap these photos of our Christmas Party Hope you like my interpretation of the Sketch, thanks for looking. Julie J

Hors'in Around

HI, On this page I have combined two challenges Sketch #324 from Sketches in Thyme and the Prompt from Archi-scraps to use CORK. The multi photo layout from Sketches in Thyme was perfect to scrap these gorgeous photos of my granddaughters first up-close and personal encounter with a horse.   I have used CORK letters in the title which I think   really blended in well with the country theme. Hope you like my interpretation of the Challenges, thanks for looking. Julie J http://sketchesinthyme.blogspot.com.au/ http://archiscraps.blogspot.com.au/

Hi Everyone, What a beautiful painting to use as inspiration for the May Challenge at ARTastic, with the criteria of flowers. I have used flowers from my stash as well as floral rubons and added a fern stencil at the top to Represent the hanging ferns at the top of the painting. Hope you like my take on the challenges, thanks so much for looking. Regards,   Julie J https://artasticchallengeblog.blogspot.com.au/ MAY inspiration is by Cathy McClelland and is called Tap Dancer

Birthday Girl

Hi Everyone, For this page I have combined the Sketch from “Sketches in Thyme” with the prompt from Scrap the Girls for May which was of course “Birthday Girl”. I thought the Star Sketch really suited the Celebration theme.   I decided to take the Stars a little bit further and used them in my Mixed Media background. Hope you like my take on the challenges, thanks so much for looking. Regards,   Julie J http://scrap-the-girls.blogspot.com.au/ http://sketchesinthyme.blogspot.com.au/

Love Life

Image
HI, On this page I have combined two challenges, “Scrapbook Bingo” from Challenge YOURself and the Blend – A – Sketch Challenge from “Scrap Our Stash”. From the Bingo card I have used the bottom row, using sprays on my background, a Boarder Punch on my paper layers, and a die cuts Smile Frame, title, date and leaves.    From the Sketches @ scrap our stash I have used the Pattern Paper frame and the date and flowers from the left hand side, and the top half of the sketch from the right hand side.   I have framed my entire page with pattern paper, and also added a die cut frame.   I went deep into my stash to discover the cute metal paper clip embellishment.   Hope you like my interpretation of the Challenges, thanks for looking. Animal Friends

Image
HI, On this page I have combined two challenges.   The Inspiration at ARTastic was from   Luka Va with -   Lamos nelaime and the criteria of “Animals anyway you like” . I choose these great photos of my daughter when she was on Holidays, she missed her own dogs so much that she kept finding statues of animals to talk to instead. I have also used with some patterned paper with puppy dogs on it to symbolise her two dogs waiting at home. I Combined this with   the 2 nd   sketch of the month from “Sketches in Thyme” sketch number 316 Hope you like my interpretation of the Challenges, thanks for looking. Milestones

Image
HI, On this page I have combined two challenges.   The Colour Challenge at White with 1 for March “Crispy Lettuce”, and the 1 st sketch on the month from “Sketches in Thyme”.   I have wanted to scrap these gorgeous photos of my Grandson for ages, and these challenges suited the photos perfectly.   I started by misting the background in bright green and then highlighting with a little bit of black, and I have used various shades of green in the layout.   The Sketch from “Sketches in Thyme” suited a multi photo layout, and I have even included their signature banner.   Hope you like my interpretation of the Challenges, thanks for looking. Hi, An interesting sketch from stuck to start the month of March. I found the circles a little challenging, but that what it’s supposed to do, challenge you. This is my interpretation of the Sketch, hope you like it. JulieJ http://stucksketchers.blogspot.com.au

Birthday Wish

Image
HI, The second sketch from “Sketches in Thyme” for February really celebrated the circle. I have tried to incorporate the shape through out the layout starting with my choice of photo, with my Birthday balloon with circles on it.   I have used two different stencils to incorporate circles in my background, and interpreted the sketch quite literally with the use of the pattern paper circles etc. I hope you like my take on this Challenge.   Thanks for looking. Julie J http://sketchesinthyme.blogspot.com.au/

Mirror Maze

Image
HI, I just loved the colourful happy feel of case file no: 247 from CSI for February: I used the following clues to solve the case: I used all the colours from the scheme in my colour blast background. I have chosen from the evidence: ·          solid white background, ·          mixed media with colour blast powder and colour blast paste. ·          Music elements ·          Flowers From the Testimony I have used the work “laugh” in my title and have used a photo of myself and my friends at a mirror maze trying to find our way out, to document a “summer memory”. What fun we have that day. Thanks so much for the challenge, I hope you like my take on it. Thanks for looking and leaving your comments, I really enjoy reading them. Memories of Paris

Image
Hi, The February Challenge at “White with 1”, was the colour “Sizzling Pink” including a great sketch as inspiration. When I saw the Eiffel Tower on the page map, I pulled out this photo of my daughter and son in law in Paris – the city of love. With the sketch as inspiration this is what I came up with.   I hope you like my take on this month’s challenge. I had fun creating it. Thanks for taking the time to look and leaving your comments.
