Birthday Wish

Image
HI, The second sketch from “Sketches in Thyme” for February really celebrated the circle. I have tried to incorporate the shape through out the layout starting with my choice of photo, with my Birthday balloon with circles on it.   I have used two different stencils to incorporate circles in my background, and interpreted the sketch quite literally with the use of the pattern paper circles etc. I hope you like my take on this Challenge.   Thanks for looking. Mirror Maze

Image
HI, I just loved the colourful happy feel of case file no: 247 from CSI for February: I used the following clues to solve the case: I used all the colours from the scheme in my colour blast background. I have chosen from the evidence: ·          solid white background, ·          mixed media with colour blast powder and colour blast paste. ·          Music elements ·          Flowers From the Testimony I have used the work “laugh” in my title and have used a photo of myself and my friends at a mirror maze trying to find our way out, to document a “summer memory”. What fun we have that day. Thanks so much for the challenge, I hope you like my take on it. Thanks for looking and leaving your comments, I really enjoy reading them. Memories of Paris

Image
Hi, The February Challenge at “White with 1”, was the colour “Sizzling Pink” including a great sketch as inspiration. When I saw the Eiffel Tower on the page map, I pulled out this photo of my daughter and son in law in Paris – the city of love. With the sketch as inspiration this is what I came up with.   I hope you like my take on this month’s challenge. I had fun creating it. Thanks for taking the time to look and leaving your comments. Explore, Dream, Discover

Image
Hi, The challenge at “Scrap the Boys” for February is “The Great Outdoors”, and the words explore, dream, discover as inspiration. The word prompts explore, dream, discover are at the heart of one of my favorited pass times, camping and traveling in our caravan. We just love to discover new places, explore this great country we live in and when we are home we are dreaming of our next adventure. With that in mind I just had to scrap this photo I took while we were Kayaking and fishing for “Red Claw” on a recent camping trip. I had lots of fun creating my mixed media background, layering tissue paper and book paper with gesso, then adding texture paste, and using a variety of stencils. I hope you like my take on the challenge, thanks for looking and leaving your comments. Julie J http://scraptheboys.blogspot.com.au/

Special Moment

Image
Hi, February is the month of love, and the team at “Scrap the Girls” have embraced this with their Sketch Challenge.   I have given the Romeo and Juliet Theme a twist, and scraped a photo of my granddaughter as family is the great love of my life. I hope you like my interpretation of the challenge, thanks for looking. Vicki C http://scrap-the-girls.blogspot.com.au/

Merry & Bright

Image
HI, The challenge from Archi-Scraps this month is to use BLING, and they gave us the photo of a lovely little decorated Church as inspiration. Bling always makes me think of Christmas Decorations, they are always so sparkly and the Church symbolises the true meaning of Christmas. With that in mind I have scraped this Cute Christmas photo of the grandchildren. I used Christmas Stencils to create my background and decorated the Christmas Tree and Christmas babbles with rhinestones. To finish off I could not resist adding a silver rhinestone flourish. I hope you like my interpretation of this month’s Challenge, thanks for the excuse to get out the bling again. Julie J http://archiscraps.blogspot.com.au/

Together

Image
HI February at ARTastic is “GIRLS ONLY”, and they have given us the lovely ceramic plate “Fringe Faces” by Jill Foster as inspiration.   The first thing I saw was three girls enjoying each other’s company.   That prompted me to use this photo of myself and two friends when we discovered this swimming hole. I have also incorporated colours from the plate, using blue on my stencilled background, and green, pink, and blue in the brads on the flowers. I have combined this challenge with the 1 st sketch from “Sketches in Thyme” blog challenge for February. Thanks to everyone at ARTastic and Sketches in Thyme for the inspiration, I really enjoy the challenges. Christmas

Image
Hi, I know its February but I’m still catching up on my Christmas pages.   So instead of the valentines Day theme suggested in the 1 st Stuck Sketch for February I have reverted to Christmas. Thanks so much for another great sketch Laura, here is my interpretation, hope you like it. Julie J
